is an environmental visual artist rooted in urban waterscapes. Her work centers on personal and collective relationships with water in the face of a deepening climate emergency. Water remains the constant through line of every form and concept that she creates. 

She has exhibited nationally including at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, DeVos Art Museum, Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art and more. Her artwork is held in private collections in 30 states and internationally including at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Minnesota Museum of American Art, and the University of St. Thomas. She has been awarded several artists grants and residencies including Pine Needles at the St. Croix Watershed Research Station with the Science Museum of Minnesota.

As a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Community Climate Leader and Water Steward, her artwork reflects our human connection with nature through embodiment, collaboration, and climate action. Hejny lives and works between Brooklyn, NY and Minneapolis, MN.
